How to get your listing comparison-ready
See how comparison facts work, what each label means for your business, and the steps to confirm or update details like opening hours and wheelchair access.
Getting your business listing comparison-ready makes it easier for customers to see how you match up to others when they filter or compare. Clear, up-to-date facts about things like opening hours, payment methods or specialist services help customers make fast, confident decisions. Doing this well means your business is shown fairly and you avoid missing out when customers use filters to shortlist providers.
What comparison facts are and why they matter
Comparison facts are specific details customers often use to filter or compare businesses in your category. For example, a plumber might be filtered by emergency call-out availability, a hotel by whether it has family rooms, or a dentist by whether they accept NHS patients. There are also general facts such as wheelchair access, card payments, or opening hours.
Customers use these facts on the Annuvell Local compare pages and in search filters. If your listing has clear answers to these, you are more likely to be included when a customer sorts or compares by those features. For instance, if someone is only looking at wheelchair-accessible businesses, only those with 'Yes' to that fact will show in filtered results. Leaving facts blank can mean you are simply not considered, even if you offer what the customer wants.
You can see a side-by-side breakdown using the compare tool, which is what customers use to check several businesses at once. Each fact is labelled so customers know whether it is checked, provided by you, or not yet confirmed.
How the three labels work for you
Each comparison fact on your listing has one of three labels: 'verified', 'provided by the business', or 'not stated'. Each affects how customers see you during comparison.
- Verified: The fact has been checked against your published website or public sources. For example, if your website clearly says you accept card payments, this fact is marked as verified. This label gives customers high confidence in the accuracy of the information.
- Provided by the business: You, as the verified owner, have confirmed the fact directly in your Annuvell Local profile workspace. This label shows customers that a responsible person from your business has answered. It is not independently checked, but it is more reliable than an unconfirmed or missing answer.
- Not stated: No answer has been given for this fact. This does not mean 'No', but the business will never match a filter for that attribute. For example, if you do accept NHS patients but leave it unconfirmed, you will not appear when customers filter for NHS-accepting practices. This label never counts against you, but it means you may be missed out from searches where customers have specific needs.
Reviewing and confirming your comparison facts step by step
To get your listing comparison-ready, you will use the comparison details section in the AI profile workspace. Here’s how to work through each fact:
1. Open the profile workspace: Log in to your Annuvell Local owner dashboard. Go to your business listing and find the AI profile workspace, then click into the comparison details section.
2. Review each attribute: You will see a list of facts relevant to your category, such as emergency call-out for plumbers or wheelchair access for retail shops. Each one shows its current status and label.
3. Answer Yes or No: For each fact, select 'Yes' or 'No' according to what your business currently offers. For example, if you do accept card payments, mark 'Yes'.
4. Clear if unsure: If you are not sure about a fact or cannot confirm it right now, leave it blank. This will label the fact as 'Not stated' until you update it later.
5. Save your answers: Make sure to save your changes so your facts are recorded. You can update them at any time from the same workspace.

What happens when your answer conflicts with your website
Sometimes you may answer 'Yes' or 'No' to a fact, but your website says something different. For example, you might confirm that you offer weekend appointments, but your website lists only weekday hours. In such cases, Annuvell Local does not immediately publish your new answer as verified.
Instead, the fact goes into review. The value currently marked as verified—based on your published website—remains live until the conflict is resolved. This protects both you and the customer from confusion or accidental misinformation.
You can update your website or provide more information to help resolve the conflict. Once the details line up, the fact can be marked as verified again. Until then, the original verified value holds, and your listing remains trustworthy to customers.

Why Not stated is neutral, but can mean missed opportunities
Leaving a fact as 'Not stated' never counts against your business. Customers do not see it as a negative, and it does not lower your visibility in general search results. However, it does mean you will not appear when customers use a filter for that attribute.
For example, if you do offer wheelchair access but have not confirmed it, your business will not show up when a customer searches specifically for accessible businesses. Not stated is simply a signal that there is no answer yet. It avoids accidental misrepresentation, but it can mean you are passed over by customers with particular needs.
If you are unsure about a fact, it is better to leave it blank than to guess. But if you know the answer, confirming it can help you reach more of the right customers.
Keeping your facts up to date
Business details can change over time—opening hours, services offered, payment methods or accessibility features. It is a good habit to review your comparison facts regularly, especially after any change to your website or business operations. This keeps your listing accurate and comparison-ready for customers who are filtering for exactly what you offer.
If you update your website to reflect a new service or change an existing detail, remember to check your Annuvell Local profile and update the corresponding facts. This helps avoid any conflicts or confusion for customers using the compare tool.
