How verified business information helps customers choose you
What "verified" means on Annuvell Local, how it differs from details you provide yourself, why the badge can never be bought, and how confirmed facts reach comparisons and structured data.
Customers who use a directory want to know that what they are reading is true. Annuvell Local is careful to label where each piece of information came from, so that a customer can tell the difference between a fact that was checked and a fact a business simply stated. Understanding those labels helps you present your business in the way customers trust most.
What "verified" means here
There are two separate things the word covers on Annuvell Local, and it is worth keeping them apart.
Verified ownership. When you claim a listing you complete an ownership check, and the claim is reviewed before it is approved. The Verified badge on a listing reflects that completed check and nothing else. It is never granted in exchange for a payment, and it cannot be purchased. The pricing page states this plainly: claimed, verified, and any visibility placement are independent of each other.
Verified facts. Some categories have comparison attributes, such as whether a service offers a particular option. Where a fact has been verified from your own website, it is marked "Verified: Yes" or "Verified: No". Where you have confirmed it yourself in the dashboard, it is marked as provided by the business.
Why the distinction matters to customers
Customers compare more than one business before getting in touch. When they do, a clear provenance label lets them weigh information sensibly:
- a verified fact can be relied on without a phone call;
- a fact provided by the business is useful but is understood to be self-declared;
- a fact that is not stated is simply unknown, and unknown never means no.
That last point protects you. If a comparison attribute is blank, the directory does not assume the answer is negative. But a blank is also an opportunity missed, because a confirmed fact can appear on comparison pages and in filters while a blank cannot.
How confirmation works in your dashboard
The comparison details section of the AI profile workspace lists every attribute defined for your category, with its current status and a short description. For each unverified attribute you can select Yes or No, and clear an answer you gave earlier.
If your answer differs from what your website says, the attribute is placed under review by an administrator and the verified value stays published in the meantime. This is not a penalty; it is how the directory avoids showing two contradictory facts at once. The simplest way to avoid conflicts is to keep your website and your listing saying the same thing.
Confirmed facts reach structured data
Facts verified as Yes are published automatically as structured data on your public listing, in the form search engines read. Only published values are used. Suggestions that exist only in the AI preview, and placeholder examples, are never placed in structured data. That means the machine-readable version of your profile is only ever as strong as the facts you have actually confirmed or had verified.
Accurate details beyond comparison facts
Verification is one part of a wider picture. The same principle, that customers trust what they can check, applies to the rest of your profile:
- opening hours that match what a customer finds when they arrive;
- a phone number and email that are answered;
- a website that is reachable, which your dashboard checks and lets you recheck;
- a description that names real services rather than making general claims.
Editorial guides like this one and the directory's search results are never influenced by payment. A listing earns trust by being accurate and complete, not by spending.
