How owner-approved AI content becomes public
See exactly how your approved AI suggestions move from the preview workspace to your public Annuvell Local profile, which details are published, and what happens if you need to change anything after publishing.
Using AI to help present your business can save time and bring clarity to your Annuvell Local profile, but nothing is published unless you approve it. This guide explains how each suggestion moves from your private workspace to your public page, which fields are involved, and how you stay in control. Knowing this process means you can use AI support confidently and spot anything that needs changing before it goes live.
Understand how the preview workspace separates draft and public data
The AI profile workspace is where you review suggestions before they ever reach your public listing. Here, you see your current public profile on one side and an AI-enhanced preview on the other. The preview is stored separately and does not affect your live profile, no matter how many times you view or regenerate it.
Every field in the preview is clearly labelled so you know its origin:
- Supported: This is taken directly from information you have already provided. Accepting these will simply restate your own facts, possibly with clearer wording.
- AI suggestion: The model offers an improved description or summary, always grounded in details you have already given. Each suggestion is shown with its supporting evidence, so you can check what it is based on before you accept.
- Add your information: Placeholders appear where the AI could not find enough detail to suggest anything. These never make claims about your business and do not count towards factual completeness.
Preview data only becomes public if you approve and publish it. Until then, your public profile remains unchanged, protecting your business from accidental updates or inaccurate information.
Decide on each field: Accept, Reject or Edit
You have the final say on every AI suggestion. For each field in the preview, you can:
- Accept the suggestion if you are happy for it to appear on your public profile. This applies to both Supported and AI suggestion fields.
- Reject any suggestion that does not suit your business or is not accurate. Rejected suggestions are not published and your original information remains.
- Edit the business description if you want to adjust or rewrite the suggested text. This is especially useful if the AI’s summary is close but not quite right for your tone or style.
- Regenerate descriptions, service summaries, and FAQs individually if you think another version might be better. This gives you as much control as manual editing.
- Accept all Supported fields in one go, if you trust your existing data as it stands.
You are never forced to accept an AI suggestion, and nothing is automatically published. This keeps your business profile accurate and in your own words where you want it. For a detailed walkthrough of this step, see How to review AI suggestions field by field.
Use Review changes to see what will change before publishing
Once you have made your decisions on each field, the next step is to check exactly what will go live. The "Review changes" page shows a clear from-and-to view of the fields you have approved. This side-by-side comparison makes it easy to spot any accidental edits, leftover placeholders, or changes you do not want to make public.
At this stage, you can still go back and adjust any field. Only the fields you have accepted or edited are queued for publishing. Nothing is changed on your public profile until you move on to the next step and confirm.
Publishing approved content: what is covered and what stays private
When you click "Publish approved changes", only the information you have accepted is applied to your public profile. The system checks your changes through the same validation as any ordinary edit—this prevents incomplete or conflicting information from reaching the public page.
Publishing covers:
- The business description: The main summary that appears at the top of your listing.
- FAQs: Answers to common questions, either suggested by the AI or added by you.
- Confirmed comparison details: Key facts used in the directory’s comparison tool, such as services offered or specialisms.
Other guidance, such as placeholders or unapproved suggestions, remains private in your workspace. Placeholders never appear to the public and do not affect your factual completeness. Your live profile only updates with what you have actively chosen to publish.
How preview data remains separate and why that matters
The separation between preview data and public data is central to protecting your business’s reputation. No AI suggestion—however well-phrased—can change your public profile unless you approve it. This means you can experiment, request new drafts, or even ignore suggestions entirely without affecting the information customers see.
If you update your profile after generating a preview (for example, by adding a new service or correcting your opening hours), the workspace marks the preview as stale. You are then offered a refresh, so you always know whether the suggestions match your most recent business details. If the AI provider is unavailable, you see a clearly labelled example structure, and nothing is stored as an AI result until a real suggestion is available. This protects you from accidental publication of incomplete or invented content.
What happens after publishing: search, comparisons, and structured data
Once you publish your approved changes, your public profile is updated immediately. From that point onward:
- Your profile’s structured data—the underlying details that power search and comparisons on Annuvell Local—reflects only what you have published, never what is in the preview.
- Search results and comparisons use the most recent published values. For example, if you update your service list or FAQs, those changes will show up in comparison tables and search filters.
- Comparison facts are labelled according to their source: verified (from your published information), provided by the business (confirmed by the verified owner), stated (published by you, but not independently checked), or Not stated. The system never assumes Not stated means No.
- Profile completeness is recalculated based on the new published facts, not on placeholders or previews. You can see at a glance how your public profile compares to others in your sector.
Customers using the compare tool or searching by location will always see only your latest published details, so you can be confident that your updates are reflected accurately.
If something needs fixing: edit and republish as normal
Even with careful review, you might spot something on your public page that is not quite right. If that happens, you can edit your profile as usual from your owner dashboard. You can:
- Make direct edits to any field, just as you would without the AI.
- Regenerate a new AI preview if you want to see updated suggestions based on your latest facts.
- Accept, reject, or edit new AI suggestions before publishing again.
The process repeats: changes are only made public when you approve and publish them. There is no penalty for adjusting your profile, and the AI preview remains a tool for you to use as much or as little as you like. For more on why AI suggestions are never published automatically, see Why AI suggestions are never published automatically.
Next steps
Before publishing any AI-enhanced content, use the Review changes step to check what will go live. Always check your public page afterwards to confirm everything appears as intended. If you have not yet claimed your business or want to try the preview workspace, you can Find my business to get started.
