Accurate comparison details make a clear difference to how your business appears on Annuvell Local. If your AI preview says comparison details are missing, it means some facts needed for side-by-side comparison are not yet supported by your listing. Understanding what the preview is showing and how to update your information helps your business stand out when customers compare options.

What comparison facts mean for your listing

Comparison facts are the specific details that appear side by side when a customer compares businesses in your category. These facts depend on the type of service or product you offer—examples might include opening hours, types of services, accessibility features, or special qualifications. When a fact is missing, it is shown in the preview as a gap: a placeholder labelled "Add your information". This does not say anything negative about your business, but it does mean that customers comparing listings will see that you have not provided this detail yet.

The preview in your AI profile workspace shows exactly which comparison facts are present and which are missing. Each field is clearly marked, so you can see at a glance where to focus. A missing comparison fact is simply one where the AI could not find enough evidence in your current profile or on your website to fill it reliably.

Placeholders and suggestions: what each means

In the AI-enhanced preview, you will see three types of labels on comparison facts:

  • Supported: These details are drawn directly from your own profile data. They are ready to be accepted and published if you agree they are accurate.
  • AI suggestion: Here, the AI has suggested improved wording or a summary, but always based on your own facts. You will see the evidence it used for each suggestion. You can accept, reject, or (for descriptions) edit these individually.
  • Add your information: This is a placeholder, not a claim. Placeholders appear where the AI could not fill the fact, either because your profile and website do not mention it or because the evidence was unclear. A placeholder never asserts a No or any other answer—it simply signals that this fact is missing and can be filled by you.

Placeholders are there to help you see what customers will see as Not stated if you do not provide the information. They do not affect your public profile until you confirm or add the missing fact.

Confirming facts yourself and how they are labelled

You can confirm any fact that the preview marks as missing or suggested. When you do, the field is labelled as "provided by the business", meaning you as the verified owner have directly confirmed the detail. This is distinct from facts that are "verified" from your website—those require evidence found by the AI on your own published site.

To confirm a fact, simply choose Yes or No for the relevant field in the workspace. Your answer is not published until you approve and publish your changes. Confirmed facts help customers compare your business fairly and clearly, as they become part of the side-by-side comparison on Annuvell Local. The clearer and more complete your comparison facts, the easier it is for customers to see what you offer.

It is worth noting that a No is still informative for many facts. If, for example, your business does not offer a particular service or feature, stating this clearly helps customers filter their options without confusion.

Verified facts from your website and resolving conflicts

Some facts can be independently verified from your website. If the AI can find clear, published evidence for a comparison fact on your site, that field is labelled as "verified". This carries extra weight when customers compare listings, as it shows the information is not just claimed but independently checked.

If there is a conflict between your profile and your website—for example, if your profile says you offer a service but your website does not mention it—the system flags this for review. Conflicts are not published automatically; they are shown in your workspace so you can resolve them. You may choose to update your website, clarify your profile, or provide supporting information. Only after you review and approve the change does it affect your public listing.

This process helps avoid confusion and keeps your listing accurate, which is valuable both for your reputation and for customers making decisions.

Using the completeness table to plan your next updates

Your AI profile workspace includes a completeness table. This table gives you a clear view of how many comparison facts are currently filled, how many would be filled if you accepted all supported facts, and the potential completeness if you add or confirm the suggested details.

  • Current completeness: Shows how your public profile stands right now, including only the facts already supported or confirmed.
  • With supported facts accepted: Predicts how your profile would look if you accept all the Supported facts in the preview.
  • Potential completeness: Indicates the highest level of completeness you could reach by filling in all suggested and missing details.

Placeholders never count towards completeness, so each missing fact is an opportunity to improve how your business compares. Reviewing the table helps you prioritise which details to confirm or add next.

Working with the preview: drafts, approval and publishing

The preview in your workspace is just that—a preview. It is generated separately from your public profile, so nothing changes on your listing until you approve and publish the fields you want to update. You can edit, regenerate, or review each field individually or in batches (for example, by accepting all supported facts at once).

When you are ready, the "Review changes" step shows you exactly what will change, with a clear from-and-to view. Only when you click "Publish approved changes" are the updates sent through the usual validation process and added to your public listing. This covers your description, FAQs, and any comparison facts you have confirmed or updated.

Your first AI preview is free to generate and view. Editing drafts, regenerating previews, and publishing changes require the free 14-day AI trial, which you can start at any time and does not need a card. After the trial, you can still see your profile and preview, but new drafts and regeneration will pause until another trial or plan becomes available.

Handling stale previews and provider downtime

If you edit your public profile after generating a preview, the system marks the preview as stale. You will be prompted to refresh the preview, so the AI can check your latest information and update the suggested facts. This keeps your workspace aligned with your current business details.

If the AI provider is unavailable for any reason, the workspace shows a clearly labelled example structure instead. This example does not store or fabricate any AI results and is only there to illustrate what you would see. You will not lose any real data or changes, and nothing is published from the example.

Presenting your information clearly to customers

When customers use the Annuvell Local compare tool, they see your confirmed and verified facts side by side with other businesses. Each fact is labelled so customers can see whether it was verified, provided directly by you, simply stated, or not stated at all. Placeholders and missing facts become Not stated in the public comparison, which can influence whether a customer chooses to contact you or moves on to another listing.

The clearer and more complete your comparison facts, the more likely customers are to understand your offer and send you relevant enquiries. You can read more about why verified information makes a difference in How verified business information helps customers choose you.

Next steps

Go through your AI preview and check every comparison fact marked as missing or shown with a placeholder. Confirm each one you can support, and resolve any conflicts flagged between your profile and website. Use the completeness table as your guide to reach the highest level of comparison detail.
